There are a variety of ways of getting to the Dordogne. Apart from flying or taking a ferry there is also the Channel Tunnel or the train.
By Sea
Coming to this part of France involves a long journey by car - but the motorways are good and not busy. On Sunday lorries, other than refrigerated ones, are not allowed on the roads. Or you can take a more leisurely drive on the smaller roads and enjoy the French scenery.

* Brittany Ferries - Portsmouth to St Malo, Caen and Cherbourg - Poole to Cherbourg - Plymouth to Roscoff - Cork to Roscoff
* P & O Ferries - Dover to Calais, Hull to Rotterdam or Zeebrugge
* Condor Ferries - Portsmouth to Cherbourg - Poole and Weymouth to St Malo via the Channel Islands
* LD Lines - Portsmouth to Le Havre - Newhaven and Dover to Dieppe - Dover to Boulogne - Rosslare to Le Havre
By Air
If you choose to fly to either Bordeaux (1.25 hours) or Bergerac (40 minutes) you will need to hire a car as Le Grand Bost is in the country.
